This 2 day introductory program will provide the tools necessary to start treating cases using PSL.
• Light Biological Forces in the PSL Technique • Difference Between Active, Interactive and Passive Self-Ligation Techniques • Review of Evidenced-Based Research on PSL • Cephalometric and Facial Profile in PSL • Impact of Aging on the Facial Profile and the Effects of Orthodontic Treatment • Review of the Latest Research Findings on Cone Beam Scanning • Treatment for Mixed Dentition • Arch Wire Selection and Arch Wire Progression • Mechanics for Gaining Space with the PSL Technique • Bracket Positioning and Bonding Procedures • Establishment of Arch Form • Non-Compliant Class II Correction • Mid-Treatment and Finishing Techniques
This 2 day advanced program will offer the PSL experienced clinician many diagnostic and treatment tips to assist with case finishing and retention.
• Diagnosis and Treatment of Class III Malocclusion • Management of the Vertically Growing Face • Anterior Open Bites (AOB) • Review of Torque Prescriptions • Handling Tongue Thrust Cases • Extraction Cases • Detailed Advanced Arch Wire Progression • Space Closure using Low Friction Wires, NiTi coil Springs and Chain • Maintaining Space and Anchorage • Final Arch Form and Detailing Bends • Case Finishing and Retention Options • Retainer Design and Retention Philosophy
Course IV: Class II Correction & OSA Treatment 10 -11 July 2010 Sydney Australia
Correcting Class II problems via growth modification, camouflage using orthodontic tooth movement, or surgical correction.
Reviewing the evidence based literature associated with the use of functional appliances.
Difference between treating a high angle Class II malocclusion which involves limiting posterior dental and skeletal vertical development vs. low angle Class II correction, which encourages f o r w a rd mandibular growth rotation.
Course V: Class III Correction 11/12 September 2010 Sydney Australia
Analysing appropriate records to differentiate between a midface deficient Class III patient that would benefit from early treatment vs. a true increased mandibular discrepancy that may require surgical correction at a later date.
Understanding the evidence based literature associated with reverse pull facemask therapy and determining the appropriate appliance that would stimulate maxillary sutures as we protract the maxilla.
Understanding mandibular growth and the importance of longterm retention, particularly in teenage boys.

Course VI: Straightwire Mechanics 6/7 November 2010 Sydney Australia
A doctor will be able to select the appropriate straightwire prescription for the malocclusion they are treating.
Cases will be presented demonstrating archwire selection and utilization, mechanics planning, finishing pro c e d u res and post deband analysis of treatment results.
The participant will come to understand not only the “how to”, but also the rationale and basis for the countless decisions one must make during straightwire therapy.
